My motherboard supports CrossFire but not SLI

I know SLI needs PCI Express x8, my motherboard has two PCI Express 3.0 x16 and 4 PCI Express 3.0 x1. I have the MSI Z370 Gaming Plus motherboard (https://www.bestbuy.com/site/msi-z370-gaming-plus-socket-lga1151-usb-3-1-gen-1-intel-motherboard/6169110.p?skuId=6169110). It doesn't say anywhere that it supports SLI, but it does say it supports CrossFire, I haven't tested it because I don't want to blow $450 on another 1070 and have the chance it might not work. If someone could help, that would be great, when I built my PC I didn't check if it supported SLI.

Nope. That board doesn't support Crossfire for whatever reason. I'm afraid that you are out of luck.

Some AMD Motherboards eg B350 support crossfire but not SLI
but the X350 does

Some boards support only SLI, some boards support only XFire, whilst some support both or neither.

That's just the way it is. Never assume that if a board supports one it must support the other.

It does support Crossfire according to MSI. But does not support SLI.

Sell your 1070, buy a 1080ti. problem solved.

And here is why it doesnt support SLI 2 x PCIe 3.0 x16 slots(support x16/x4 mode) first one is x16 the second one is x4, Nvidia has to have a minimum of x8 on both slots while AMD can drop down to x4
