I have a toshiba window 8 laptop, not touchscreen. We'll yesterday my cat stepped on my keyboard and I'm not sure but I believe he pressed INS scroll lock I don't really know, but anyway now my mouse cursor or whatever won't come out. When I'm on the lock screen like where I enter my password the mouse works. But it doesn't when I'm on the tiles or desktop. I tried pressing INS scroll lock a few times but didn't work I don't have time to go to geek squad does anyone know what to do before I do something and mess it up? Thank you for your help.

I really don't think this was your cat's fault, Toshiba and Windows 8 are a bad combination as both have a lot of issues all the time, a friend of mine had this issue with his Toshiba Laptop and solve it by Restarting the laptop.

You can achieve this by clicking under the Shutdown Menu it should give you 3 Options, Shutdown, Restart and Standby, please select Restart.

If this doesn't fix the issue then try going to your mouse properties an re-apply the cursor theme.

Good luck,
