Sorry if someones already said this just had a quick skim through but instead of a Quaddro you could get a ATI Fire GL i've read some pretty good reviews in 3d world and some of the prices in the uk are pretty good.

alas, 4gb is a requirement to do any work on vista, as the os itself uses a whole gb with steam running in the background 8O

and, i backed off of a raptor drive last minute before i ordered all my parts.

thats interesting , i saw in another post that seagate are soon making a 10,000 rpm drive......i dont know more . I await the new adobe CS3 stuff too , hopin its more multi threaded friendly etc, thingz are lookin good for thefuture. Ive not used vegas , i heard its got great fast preview when scrubbing in the timeline. Mainly I use after effects for motion graphics , my partner of sorts , who does later cuts on our work ,uses premier.

He wants to build a new machine soon , as does a photoshop/gfx designer friend of mine, so cheers for the feedback , n good luck with your creations.

but for the video card I want to go with a x1950Pro as I think it will be well enough for the moment, but read a lot and people seems to be having problems with many of them, any one having one and beeing happy of it???

I am going with a x1950Pro even if it is not a good overclcoker, and THD put it as the best buy for the middle range
