You guys are friggen crazy hard core overclockin fools. However the fan idea was pretty inventive. I'll have to try that one next summer LOL

Inventive? A grade 2 could've came up with that idea.

BTW, hardwareboss, i no longer have a case, i sold it and now my computer's just sitting on my desk, it cools better, and of course louder.

since my system was down, I couldn't answer a question asked a loooong time ago. The batch # of the CPU is on the white lable on the retail box, along with the packing date from the factory. That said, scottchen, hate to ask this but can you do me a favor? Now that your system is running at about the same specs as mine (3.25 Ghz) could you do a 3DMark2001 and PCMark2002 test and post the results? My system doesn't seem to be as optimized as it could be. with my specs below, these are my scores:

3DMark2001 - 13,550.
PCMark 2002 - CPU:8095, MEM:9375, HDD:1360

and on a final note, I mentioned this in my other post as well. My old system had an ASUS P4GE-V, 2.4b CPU @ 2.8Ghz, and 1GB of generic Samsung DDR PC2700. Same video card. With intell AA installed, my 3DMark2001 score was 13,775. So why, on a better system that supposedly doesn't need intel AA on it, do I get a far worse score (when compared to the overclock and equipment)?

bought it last year. Haven't had the $$ to upgrade that yet. It does the job. can't complain. I've maxed out all the settings at 1280X1024 on games like MOH, Unreal 2, and BF1942 without a problem. I can live without dX9 a while longer. Call of Duty looks pretty sweet too, though I know I miss out a little on some effects. No biggie. But what's up with the performance difference on the two computer setups with the same card? Shouldn't I be getting around 15,000 3DMarks with my current setup?

hey Rick, what's your system and 3DMark2001 score? 2003 Score?

yeah, with those numbers, It should put me and my current setup around 15000 marks, right? Where in the bios do you choose your AGP speed? (1x,4x,8x?) Can't find it.

Asus does it automatically, it sets to the max allowed on your vid card.

scottchen, with your current settings, can you do me a HUGE favor and do a 3DMark2001 test, PCMark2002 test, and a SiSoft Memory Bandwidth test and post your results?

Sure, but i'm sry, i can't do the online comparison thing, because i'm using fake CD key, so it won't let me compare.

Ok here's what i benchmarked at:
CPU: 263FSB @ 1.775V 3419mhz
Memory 1:1 ratio with FSB 2.85vdimm, 2.5-4-4-7
Memory acceleration enabled of course, system performance set at turbo.
XFX5900 128meg set at 530/1040(Highest i could go without nVidia turning it back down.

PCmark2002,
CPU: 9219
Memory: 11087
HDD: 1263

Sisoft Sandra 2004
Memory Bandwidth:
6014
6132

3dmark2001(i ran it 3 times)
19870
20067
20098
(why is mark going up?)
i'm going to do it 10 times tonight see how high mark it goes. I'm pissed off by the fact that i downgraded from 9800pro to 5900, oh well at least now i have over 9000 dollars in my savings account.

Just wanted to say, Sandra's memory bandwidth test is not the best way to test for memory bandwidth, honest truty i think it's full of sh*t.

damn, at only 200 Mhz faster overclock, you're 1000 over me in the CPU test and 2000 over me in the memory. 500 over me in the Sisoft and 7000 over me in 3DMark. I know that's not just the video card. Now the GEIL I have, as you know, is comparable to your OCZ (PC stats and Anandtech agree) so how the hell are you getting those scores? Just curious, does your board beep once or twice when booting? Check out my post under OC/motherboards and see if you know what's going on there. Nothing in the manual about it. Oh, PCMark scores go up the more you do it too.

Asus P4P800 Deluxe, 2.6C @ 3.25Ghz, Geil Platinum PC4000, Geforce 4600ti, SB Audigy 2, Maxtor DiamondMax Plus9 120 SATA, Antec TruePower 430.

I don't have a speaker, so I wouldn't know how many beeps it has. Geil has a little problem with their meomory, check legit reviews, they did bandwidth comparsion, at 3-4-4-8 for ocz and 2.5-3-3-7, somehow OCZ won bandwidth comparison, now i lowered the timings on the OCZ, and i'm clocked higher than you on the memory frequency. So I guess that makes sense. CPU test you're only getting 8200? that's not right, you should be around 8700, memory you must've broken the 10000 barrier right? Well I could see why you're 7000 behind me in 3dmark, because of video card, and CPU. Well I do have my vid card clocked pretty GODDAMN high.

-Intel PIV 2.6C @ 3.276G -Asus P4P800 -OCZ Copper 2x256 4000EL memory @ 252mhz 2.5-3-4-6 -XFX 5900 128meg 450/900 -SB audigy -120G Maxtor Diamond Plus9 S-ATA150 hdd -450 Enermax PSU

my computer's at 3.25Ghz and I only get 8200 on the CPU and 9400 on my RAM. I upped it to 3.38 (260 Mhz) and got 8350 on the CPU and 9997 on RAM. Cannot break the 10000 mark without going higher, but I should be there at 3.25Ghz, right? Should I send the GEIL back and get the OCZ Copper EL? Is it worth the 15% restocking fee hit?

Asus P4P800 Deluxe, 2.6C @ 3.25Ghz, Geil Platinum PC4000, Geforce 4600ti, SB Audigy 2, Maxtor DiamondMax Plus9 120 SATA, Antec TruePower 430.

IT'S NOT WORTH THE 15% RESTOCKING FEE, your bios needs some serious tweaking, what's your vcore and vdimm at?

-Intel PIV 2.6C @ 3.276G -Asus P4P800 -OCZ Copper 2x256 4000EL memory @ 252mhz 2.5-3-4-6 -XFX 5900 128meg 450/900 -SB audigy -120G Maxtor Diamond Plus9 S-ATA150 hdd -450 Enermax PSU

I had my vdimm at 2.85 (but now it's at 2.75) and my vcore is at 1.575. Would upping the vcore really make that big a difference? Acutally, I'm past my RMA time so if I were to get rid of the ram, I could sell it to a friend that I'm also selling my extra mobo to. I have the newest bios flashed. Hey, I doubt it, but do you have the Intel AA RAID ed. installed? I doubt it since you don't have a RAID setup, but just curious. Also, what, in the bios have you tweaked? I have both Memory Accelleration and Turbo enabled. It's wierd - On that Abit IC7-G, my CPU scores were actually lower at 7850 and my RAM was actually higher at 9650.

Asus P4P800 Deluxe, 2.6C @ 3.25Ghz, Geil Platinum PC4000, Geforce 4600ti, SB Audigy 2, Maxtor DiamondMax Plus9 120 SATA, Antec TruePower 430.

No i don't have the raid installed, since i'm not using P4P800 DLX. Memory Acceleration mode is just PAT, Asus liked to call it a different name, setting system performance on Trubo, I didn't see any difference, oh well I like the sound of Turbo.

-Intel PIV 2.6C @ 3.276G -Asus P4P800 -OCZ Copper 2x256 4000EL memory @ 252mhz 2.5-3-4-6 -XFX 5900 128meg 450/900 -SB audigy -120G Maxtor Diamond Plus9 S-ATA150 hdd -450 Enermax PSU

so what should my voltages be? What are yours? Will it make a difference in benchmarks/performance?
