I just buy a new sshd to replace my old internal laptop. The sshd i buy is Seagate ST1000LM14 1TB
I make 2 partition for the drive C(OS) and D(Storage) even I copy 5gb file to the same drive the copy speed 100MB/s the drop to 10-20MB/s is it normal? please help

Here my CrystalDiskMark benchmark https://imgur.com/B4MzpTv

Solution

Absolutely normal.

Copying within the same drive WILL be slow.
Copying TO an SSHD is no faster than a regular HDD.

I though it will increase speed copying files......Even my boot up speed much faster than normal HDD, Thats why I though its weird that the speed when I copy so slow
But the speed when I feel like copy file much faster from time to time

An SSHD works by learning what are the most used blocks of data. That stuff ends up in the faster 8GB SSD space.
If this is the OS drive, most of that will be parts of the OS.
Hence, a faster boot time.

Most other things...regular HDD speed.

Copying between two partitions...the firmware and SSD has never seen those things before. So, normal HDD speed.
And copying between two partitions on the same drive...it's reading and writing at the same time.

Owh thanks for the explanation now I can see the different
