My newly built system is freezing

I built a new computer rig with the following new components:

CPU- FX-8350
Motherboard- ASUS Sabertooth 990FX rev.2
16 gigs of 1600 ddr3 ram (G2)
Evega GTX 770 Dual 4gb
HD- 500gb barracuda
Case-NZXT Source 530 (7 fans- no controllers)
CM Seidon water cooler (bluelight)
Power Supply Corsair HX 750w
(1) Super multi and (1) Super multi bluray drive


My computer freezes after three or four hours of use, idle or in game play.
Temps hit the low 40's at peak use and mid to lower 30's while idle. No red LED's show and no beeps sound. I'm not overclocking it. I play League and minecraft. Can you help me?

Make sure you have all the latest drivers Chipset/GPU in your build also look task manager for programs that freezes your PC.

I have just installed all the latest drivers for each new component. I'll let you know the outcome 24 hours from now. But, I'm wondering if the HX 750 is enough power for my rig. It's been said that power usage should be buffered by 30 % above cost. The GTX 770 requires a 600w psu at minimum and 30% of 600 is 180. Maybe an 800w or better..., we'll see. I don't want to jeopardize my equipment on theory alone.

750W PSU plenty for GTX-770 even for SLI so there is some software problem rather than PSU problem

New symptom: computer freezes, but this time I'm watching Netflix and the video feed slows down just prior to the freeze. While the feed is slowing, the computer disconnects the sound device. Like watching something in slow motion as I slowly lose complete control.

No, BETA driver should be OK, right now I'm also using BETA driver and it works just fine.
I recommend you to try to run your system with other HDD, I had almost same problem and I found that it was a bad (dying) HDD, it's still dying

Something I've also noticed about my rig is that it's more prone to freeze from a cold start. When I get home from work, it freezes within an hour. When I restart it, it goes many hours before it freezes.

The ram I use is 1.65v. It also had my timings at 11-11-11-28. The real timings are 9-9-9-24. Do you think this could have skewed things?

Not really, RAM speed shouldn't freeze your PC but you have to enable XMP in BIOS to have good performance

It froze again, but this time it gave me a bsod (0x000000F4, 0xFFFFA800F145B30). I wonder if the option of using the UEFI and legacy boot simultaneously might be the problem.

I made some research and found that it might be driver or HDD problem so it's not your BIOS, try to find another HDD and try to run your PC (to make sure that it's not software) and/or reinstall all your drivers

It took longer to freeze this time. Played games and videos without any problems, up until about five minutes ago. I was playing minecraft when all of a sudden the mouse stopped working. Mind you, everything else kept working. Then while trying to get to my event logger with just a keyboard, it stopped working with the sound. For couple more minutes everything else appeared to continue. The computer clock kept ticking away until the bsod showed up.

Oh, 0x000000f4 is an error code for wlan driver that comes with some of the Sabertooth 990FX v2 and v1 boards. The driver gives a contradicting command (tells it to stop and go at the same time) to the computer that cause it to hang up with a bsod 0x000000f4 error. I downloaded Microsoft's hotfix for it. Now all I need to do is see if the bluescreen returns. The game and videos I've been using are online. Hopefully this is it. Another wait and see monitoring.

I received the following: CODE 0116 - 0x000000000000003, FFFFA800C6D6010 (TIMES 4) Anyway, code 0116 = VIDEO_TDR_ERROR-- I get the feeling this is related to my GTX 770. Since my 90 days to get the extended warranty from newegg is still valid, I went ahead and purchased it. Free replacement /no questions asked makes me feel better. Is a VIDEO_TDR_ERROR fixable?

Got this one when I put a Radeon 6850 in. This older card might have caused this new code. 3b seems to be graphics related.
