I have in my pc two sticks of 2gb ddr3 and two sticks of 2*2gb ram. My nvidia geforce has my rig and it says that i have 8gb installed but i have 12 installed. This is not a problem that Windows is taking it for itself it's the double ram sticks 2* (2*2GB). I don't really care but having 12GB is better than 8GB. It means i don't have two replace four sticks of ram when upgrading only two.

A nVidia Geforce is your graphics card? How does it "say" you have 8gb ram installed?

On Task Manager, how much ram does it say you have?

Nvidia only tells you about the vram. So I guess your gpu takes some ram if needed and it takes up to 8 gig. Dunno, for example your gpu has 3 gig vram, and it takes up to 5 gig of your ram if necessary, so it shows you 8 gigs of ram.

"two sticks of 2*2gb ram" ??? did you mean 2x4Gb sticks or a 4Gb kit? Part numbers for the ram would be helpful. ALso what does cpu-z show?
