[SOLVED] my passport WD not working in windows 10

The driver itself only appears in the 'usb and printers'. Its not in 'disk management' or anything like that.
it says in usb and printers: Driver error
and , troubleshoot. When I troubleshoot it says pc needs to restart and its good to go. however this doesnt work

solved: plugged it in to the 2.0 ports and it installed. My passport was incompatible with the 3.0 ports just to solve that problem for anyone else who has it
