my pc blacked out and turned off.

i was playing a game then my pc suddenly black screen crashed. then it wont boot anymore. when i tried my old gpu it boots up just fine. help please..

i have a amd radeon hd 6770 and a generic 500 watts cpu.

I guess that you've found the answer: a defective power supply. Try RMA-ing it, if under warranty.

Few Questions:

1. How long have you been using the graphics card with no issue?
2. Did you install any new drivers or uninstall any drivers prior to the black screen happening?

It sounds like a GPU issue since you were able to boot up with a different GPU. The generic 500 watt may not be the problem, but it couldn't hurt you to replace it with a more reputable brand (Corsair, Seasonic)
