Context: I installed WLAN, LAN, BT, Intel INF, and Intel Serial IO drivers for Windows 11 Home from my motherboard’s site: https://www.gigabyte.com/Motherboard/B660-GAMING-X-AX-DDR4-rev-10/support#support-dl-driver, and I have an operating USB WiFi5 Network Adapter, labeled ´REALTEK RTL8811AU Wireless LAN 802.11ac USB 2.0 Network Adapter’ in device manager. My router is WiFi5 as well. My home network shows up but when trying to connect I get hit by ´Cannot connect to network’ every time. Ive spent hours troubleshooting and dont know where to go next. There are still some devices in device manager that have the little triangle, specifically ‘PCI Simple Communications Manager,’ and an unknown device, both under the Other Devices drop down. Any info needed to help troubleshoot I’d be happy to provide, thanks.

You need to resolve ALL of the remarked devices, ESPECIALLY "PCI simple communications manager" before you are going to be able to connect to anything, because THAT IS WHAT IT DOES. It manages PCIe communications and your WiFi adapter is a PCI communications device.

Please install ALL of the following drivers. Do not skip ANY. And restart the system after you download, unpack and install ALL of the listed drivers below. ALL. Even if you THINK it is not relevant, install it. Even if you believe you previously installed it, install it again. All drivers can affect ALL other drivers.

I downloaded all drivers listed, with a restart between each, and the PCI Communications Manager went away, but I still can’t connect. There is still an ’Unknown Device’ under Other Devices thats driverless, as well as ‘Microsoft Basic Display Adapter.’ What next?

Install this one as well. https://download.gigabyte.com/FileL...1.1002.zip?v=e1723a9384b4db21a5342fb3f3bdfaed

You may need to move your PC closer to your cable modem or router and set it up there temporarily so you can connect an ethernet cable in order to gain access to Windows update and allow it to check automatically for "optional updates" that might contain the required driver for your remaining unknown device.

It might also be this one, so try this as well.

Intel HID event filter: https://download.gigabyte.com/FileL....2.2.1.zip?v=501c4af1712f28b261ef22689bdda3e7

What is your currently installed motherboard BIOS version? What are your full hardware specs including CPU model, any add in hardware, graphics card, etc.?

My motherboard has BIOS version F1, Intel i5-12600k, 32Gb DDR4 RAM, with the AMD Radeon 6650 XT as my graphics card, 512Gb M.2 SSD, No SATA Connections, and a 750W PSU.

Yeah I installed both those drivers, and now there are no driverless devices in device manager, but still no luck connecting :/

It would be a VERY good idea to update to the latest BIOS. There were a lot of problems with the original F1 BIOS on these B660 boards. Simply update to version F21. No need to update to each incremental version.
BIOS F21 Came in a folder without any .exe file to install, what should the install file look like?

You install from the BIOS utility in the BIOS. You don't install from Windows.

https://global.aorus.com/blog/How-to-Update-Your-BIOS-Part-2.php
But I’ve noticed in event viewer when trying to connect to WiFi, my network adapter spews out a few warnings:

Software GraphicsCommandCenter had non-critical error 0x4D5 during installation, will retry later.

Software RealtekAudioControl had non-critical error 0x4D5 during installation, will retry later.

The Network List Manager reports no connectivity to the internet.

A connection to the Windows Update service cannot be established.

Have you TRIED a hardwired ethernet connection like I suggested before? You might HAVE to do that, at least temporarily. You might also simply have a bad onboard WiFi adapter. It might be worth trying to pick up a cheap USB wireless adapter to see if you have the same issue.

Just tried Ethernet and LAN works fine, downloaded loads of Windows 11 updates (as well as optional), and trying both the motherboard Wifi Adapter and a USB one still shows no connection.

Then there is something in your system settings or on the wireless router that is blocking you. Have you made SURE that WiFi is not DISABLED in your Windows wireless settings?

If you have, then I'd suggest this almost has to be a lack of permissions or not properly logged in to your router. There's literally nothing else it could be.

Somehow I got it to work, thanks a bunch for your help!
