Question My pc has 2x 8pin cables, but my new gpu has only 1x 8pin slot, is it ok to just run with 1 cable?

I just changed gpu and found it is 1x 8 pin, but my previous gpu has 2 x 8pin and my power has 2x8pin, would it matter if i just use half of the cable?

It's not required to use every single cable available. If your new GPU only needs 1 of the 2 8-pin PCIe cables, then so be it, it will not harm the PSU or any other component.
