my pc is running well but lately it started to boot slow first.
then while im playing my game it started to be hang.
then the blue screen of death some of you call appears then restart.
then its always like that, it boots for about 20mins. then loads up for another 15mins. then programs in my computer runs slow.
so ive to decided to clean the registry first, defrag my disk
but still the same. ive looked for bad sectors and repair it.
but still the same.
so now ive tried to reformat my hard disk completely.
but it still runs slow.
i have a 3.2gb of ddr ram
a 500gb WD hard disk
and an amd phenomx4 processor.

what do you think is the problem and what can i do?

check your hardware run some tests on your hard drive make sure its ok then try removing some ram testing 1 stick at a time by its self if you haven’t found the issue by then get your power supply tested local shops can do it for you if you don’t have access to a psu tester
Backing up all your data is smart right now if there is a disk issue you will be happy you did that before you lose it all
Even if it turns out to be a hardware issue its wise to reinstall your os any way how, knows what’s been corrupted

i already did that, like i said before. but still it boots slow and hangs up on me.
any more ideas what could it be?
or is it a HDD issue or any hardware?

ive already tried taking out the ram one at a time but still the same. and i also tried to re install the os.
but pls tell whats with the issue with the PSU? im just lost cause its working fine just a few days ago and i havent added anything to my unit? is it possible that its because of the PSU? kindly enlighten me pls.

I already have saved the important datas for me in my external HD. Ive already reformat my unit completely. but still the same.

data life guard is for testing your hard drive. if your psu is putting out the wrong voltages then things can go really bad or so it has in my experience i lost 2 hard drives in a raid of 4 and 3 motherboards before i my psu tested and sure enough it was the issue after that i bought a psu tester

OMG, check your system for driver/software conflicts first. Please.

It's all as there are no enough software/driver/BIOS config. issues outthere so all of you tend to immediately jump to replacing hardware.

@pepe2907 well with the bios being set to factory default and a fresh install we would assume the newest drivers were installed there for we move on to hardware issues.

@asparagus so to be thorough did you use all up to date drivers after your reinstall did you experience any of the issue you described right after the fresh install? or was it later on when your system was setup ?
What os are you using ? and is it x86 or x64
what’s your gfx card ?
what’s the wattage on your psu ?

yes ive used all up to date drivers and also yes right after fresh install.
no line kinks or anything like that sir.
Im using a xp sp 2 and i think its x64 if i remember it right.
im still using the built in card with MoBo(emx-amd880hd3-pro), which i think has an ATI radeon 512mb?
and im using a 550 watts PSU.
BTW i only encounter the bluescreen once. but the problem is it boots slow and it freezes at some point or tends to be choppy when i tried to play a game.

and one more thing to ask you guys if i may.
why does it seem that it cant connect to the internet, right after the problem starts and even after i reformatted my desktop completely.
it always appear that server cant be found.
I log the address correctly, it ain't in offline mode or anything it just doesn't connect.
I can say its not the connection either cause right now im using my old grid and the same connection.

Just a shot in the dark here, make sure you’re not set to sata 3 in your bios while running a sata 2 hard drive ( i doubt that will make any difference really )
You stated you have 3.2 gigs of ram so im going to assume you are x86 because i don’t think ddr3 has 256 sticks of ram, so driver compatibility for xp x86 should not be an issue
What game are you running because i can’t see that video card handling many games and you will get chopping if your video can’t keep up
Have you checked device manager to see if everything installed correctly

first of all thx a lot cause til now you're trying to help sir.
Im not set on sata 3.
everything is installed correctly and im just playing my nba2k11 which is working fine before without any problem.

anyway im just going to my grid to a service center.

crap... now i know the issue they said i my HDD is the one that has a problem. so i just bought a new one..

anyway thx a lot to you sir for trying to help.
feels good to know someone is helping you out.
