Ok so my PC Is getting slow and im pissed. i can't play some new triple A games on 60 fps on lowest graphics options. What should i upgrade? List of components:

CPU: i5 6400
GPU: msi GeForce GTX 970 4gb
Motherboard: Msi h110m pro-vd
Ram: 2x HyperX Fury 16gb 2133mhz

Here is a list for CPU:s supported by your motherboard : https://www.msi.com/Motherboard/support/H110M-PRO-VD#support-cpu

You can check what kind of scores these processors get in benchmarks here
https://www.cpubenchmark.net/socketType.html
(Select LGA 1151 (2015) under Desktop and you see all cpu benchmarks comparison)

i7-7700k is the best supported cpu and it gives significant boost in performance, your still fine with going i7-6700k or i7-6700 / i7-7700 if its out of budget. The "k" means overclockable but that doesnt really matter since your motherboard dont support any major overclocking feature.

gtx 970 is not a bad gpu, i would suggest just getting new processor and overclocking msi gtx 970 to the max i can...
