[SOLVED] My PC is getting slow, what should i upgrade?

Ok so my PC Is getting slow and im pissed. i can't play some new triple A games on 60 fps on lowest graphics options. What should i upgrade? List of components:

CPU: i5 6400
GPU: msi GeForce GTX 970 4gb
Motherboard: Msi h110m pro-vd
Ram: 2x HyperX Fury 16gb 2133mhz

Thats most of the things Its all air cooled And it was a prebuilt pc.
I would be thankful for any responce.

I have ssd for things like system, some Apps, games i play a lot and some files hdd for larger files And games

(Select LGA 1151 (2015) under Desktop and you see all cpu benchmarks comparison)

i7-7700k is the best supported cpu and it gives significant boost in performance, your still fine with going i7-6700k or i7-6700 / i7-7700 if its out of budget. The "k" means overclockable but that doesnt really matter since your motherboard dont support any major overclocking feature.

gtx 970 is not a bad gpu, i would suggest just getting new processor and overclocking msi gtx 970 to the max i can and call it a day.

I would look for used i7-7700k / i7-6700k model, buying processor used is much safer than other parts since its kinda hard to degrade one (if its newer than 5 years)

Even used those cpu's might turn out to be expensive so if too high a price look at upgrading cpu+motherboard.

I guess you have stock cooler? What power supply?

You wont bottleneck a gtx 970 with any supported i7 cpu on that motherboard. Things change if you upgrade to something like 1080ti+

This all depends if want to use some time overclocking the cpu or are you gonna run it as stock.

if your not interested in oc:ing the cpu then Vic 40 is right about new cpu and mobo, unless you find non "k" version i7-6700 or i7-7700 super cheap like less than 100$

I deleted that part of my post, was reading 2 threads at the same time, my bad.

The "k" models i7-7700k and i7-6700k are still clocked abit higher than non "k" models but you wont bottleneck a gtx 970 even with i7-6700.
