My pc is not recognising original cds

my pc recognising only dvds , previously both dvd and cd is recognising. but now cd is not showing, please can u tell me the solution

The laser inside the drive uses two wavelengths, one for DVD media & one for CD media.
My guess is the laser electronics is faulty and is using only one wavelength, so the drive needs replacing.

As I said in my first post, the optical drive needs replacing (ie you need to install a new one).
