I have a Dell PC which works fine with a Windows 10 HDD but I wanted to use a Linux software for my PC, I put the files required to install the Linux (ubuntu) onto a usb flash drive. I removed the Windows HDD, installed a clean formatted hard drive into my pc, plugged in the USB flash drive back into my pc and then turned the PC on, I managed to install it with only 1 error which said “input/output error during write on dev/sdg” I pressed ignore and continued with the download. It then asked me to reboot the pc to get it working properly and it was working fine. I removed the usb flash drive and restarted my pc again and it booted with the Linux OS again smoothly. I shut the computer down just to check if everything was working properly but then when I turned my pc back on it gave me a messagaes saying “no bootable device found.” I hadn’t unplugged the HDD or even touched it and my PC cannot find it. If I put my windows 10 HDD into my pc it works fine but the HDD with Ubuntu (Linux) does not boot. How do I get my pc to boot with the Linux HDD smoothly?
