Question My PC slows down tremendously when downloading games.

I have a fairly good pc, i7-7700k, 16gb of DDR4-3200, 1080, and an ssd. Whenever I download anything, even software updates my PC slows to an unusable rate, and I cannot even move my mouse without extreme lag. I would chalk this up to internet, but all of my friends have the same internet, and my PC is better than theirs, but they do not have this issue.

How much disk-space do you have left on your HDD/SSD? If you are nearing capacity that's your problem most likely. You should maintain a minimum of 15% empty but ideally 20-30%

I still have around 40% on both my HDD and SSD.

Are you using any sort of down loader programs? (not Seam or other game launchers)

What is the CPU when you are downloading?

What speed are you downloading?

Make sure you have the latest drivers for your LAN.
