My printer folder is empty and I cant install a printer

My printer folder is empty. I cannot add a printer nor can I install a printer from scratch. It appears that something was deleted. Printers does not work in control panel. I am using Windows Vista 34

Are you aware of when you are not able to install, and have you tried to do a Windows System Restore to prior date ?

It's the Print Spooler Service crashing and not restarting. Only way I've ever fixed it is by reinstalling Windows.
