My psu only comes with 3 pci-e so I can't sli

Someone said every psu has at least 4x pci-e, so am I incorrect? My psu is supernova nex b2 750w (there's two versions and idk which one I have since I threw the box out and evga really wanted to be difficult) my manual shows 3 vga cables as pci-e and that's all so do I need to buy another pci cable? I have a perif cable that I hooked up to some 3x2 thing that I think came with my graphics card but one of the holes doesn't have a metal circle inside it like the pci-e so I don't think it'll work right.

the psu will come with various numbers of connectors depending on what it is capable of powering. with that said the evga b2 750 should have 4 6+2 pcie connectors. it is modular so did you buy any chance throw away or misplace the other cable?

i am pretty sure you can buy the cable from evga but you'll want to check their site for that info as i don't know where to get them.

That's my manual, and it says only 3 pci-e. Even if I am missing cables it can't be pci-e because I have the 3 it says, so I need to buy another one??

ok then that is the b1 model and not the b2 model.

it is modular so you will have to see if you can order more cables for it. another option is an adaptor, they are not recommended but can combine a couple molex connectors into a single pcie one. https://d1rktuf34l9h2g.cloudfront.net/4/4d/4ddc9612_k-pcie-molex_main.jpeg they look like this. again not really recommended but if it is not a massively high powered card, it may be good enough.

what kind of cards are you trying to sli anyway?

I opened another psu I bought by accident and was going to try and return to get an extra pcie cord but they are like 8x2 on one end so it won't work with my current one ugh!!!!!

if you can't find a cord or new set of cords for it, you may have to go with the molex adapter or buy a new psu.

many cards come with the adapter so it's possible you already have one from the 970's. if you are only using the adapter for a 6 pin connection and not an 8 pin, then it should be good enough but avoid any serious overclocking of the gpu's due to the molex not delivering as much power as it may need.
