[SOLVED] My RAM is 3200mhz but runs at lower speed

HI, I'm sure this question has been asked a lot but I haven't found it sadly, I've bought two sticks of 16 GB HyperX Fury RGB 3200mhz, in CPU-Z it says that my "NB Frequency" and DRAM Frequency is 1200mhz, shouldn't it be 3200mhz? or 6400 do they not add up?

Motherboard: B450 Tomahawk MAX
CPU: Ryzen 7 3700x
RAM: 16x2 HyperX Fury RGB
GPU: GTX 1060 6GB

Specs should run ram fine. Restore bios defaults and set Xmp to profile 1. One thing i noticed is command rate should be 1T with two sticks not 2T. Something isn't setting right.

I've updated it and it looks like it still doesn't work, then i changed my ram speed and my cmos reset xD but i still have the same problem. if both of my ram sticks are 3200mhz would i have 6400mhz in total or 3200?

Na, DDR is for individual ram speed. Can see under spd tab XMP-3200's true frequency for each stick is 1600.

The interface uses double pumping (transferring data on both the rising and falling edges of the clock signal) to double data bus bandwidth without a corresponding increase in clock frequency.

Diagnostic programs show true ram frequency. If you see 1600 for each stick, they are both running at 3200.

If XMP 3200 is not giving you 1600 in Windows, could try manually adjusting ram.

Windows can sometimes not read ram properly. Sometimes it's correct, sometimes not. In this case, seems it's right if either Cpuz/Ryzen Master read the same, 1200*2 = 2400.

Just curious, why do you think running in dual channel necessarily means the RAM should be running 1T command rate?

I thought two sticks 1T, four sticks 2T. I recently read about Ryzen and pair of 16GB sticks running 2T seems to be normal behaviour. You were right to question me, im wrong.

If they work together yeah but mixing different sets of ram can be troublesome.

Ram are sold in kits to minimise minute manufacturing differences. Motherboards and ram can be pretty fussy. Mixing might work but a chance they won't.
