My RAM may have died?

OK, heres the scenario. It was a hot day yesterday and my brother was gaming on my PC. He closed it because he felt it was getting really hot. A couple hours later I jump on and about an hour later of use the computer just shuts down.

I give it another two hours and try opening it again. Now it begins booting up(fans start spinning) and in two seconds (without the computer making a beeping sound) the computer just shuts down. Then it starts again three seconds later and repeats the process of opening and closing. It just repeats this process.

OK, so I looked online for past forum posts looking for some remedies and everyone was suggesting something failed. So I decided to troubleshoot.

Disconnected everything and only had the PSU, motherboard and CPU connected. It started working! (But beeped three times repeatedly meaning lack of RAM, but it was working!)

So I started adding components like sdd etc. When it came to ram things got complicated. (I have 2x4gb Kingston ram) I started with one stick and it did the on/off/on/off process, tried it with the other stick same thing, tried the other ram ports same thing.

Does this mean BOTH of my RAM sticks failed? Is it a more complicated issue where my CPU or motherboard is failing to recognize the RAM?

This was my first build, I built it 3 months ago and had no problem since. I also don't know too much technical stuff since i recently learnt how to build.

I would love you till eternity if anyone out there can help me out. PS sorry for the wall of text I just thought the more detailed I was the more thorough u guys can answer.

Toms Hardware, you are my last hope!
