[SOLVED] My RAM wont run at 3600MHz

So I just bought a new pair of RAM because my previous ones didnt work as intended. (https://www.userbenchmark.com/UserRun/41790716) these are my components. BUT, these new rams wont run at 3600MHz either, same with my previous Vengance ones. I go to the bios, turn on XMP, save and exit, but for some reason it doesnt save? I have no idea how to fix it. Maybe I need a new mobo? I bought all my parts a year ago, and its weird that it doesnt work.

Typically a R5 3600 should work with DDR4 3600... that said, the memory kit you have purchased isn't listed on the QVL testing list for that motherboard:

Typically, if you try and run the memory at a setting that the board detects as unstable, it resets it to default (as you are seeing here, DDR4 2133). First thing I would try is make sure your motherboard has been updated to the latest bios and try again. Also, when you set the XMP value, check that the memory voltage is also set - higher clocked DDR4 ram needs a bit more voltage than standard (I think default is 1.2v but usually a faster kit needs ~1.5v, it will say on the module), I've noticed on a couple of boards that the XMP value sets the speed but the voltage has to be changed separately.

If all the above still doesn't work, you should be able to try setting the kit to a lower speed than DDR4 3600 - for example try 3200 and see if that works, the memory controller is built into the cpu itself and they can be a bit fussy about memory settings.

Hey, it worked! I manually changed the voltage and set the ram to 3200mhz instead. It might even work with 3600 now! Thanks dude. I guess i dont need the new ram then, hahah.
