My RAMs really running dual channel?

Hi,

I Installed 2 RAMs they are basically the same, same brand, speed, same serial number., but it's not a kit!
They are two Crucical DDR4 8gb 2400mhz rams, bought separately.
But for some reason when I first put the second one into the second black slot, the pc didn't start. Maybe I did something wrong.
But when I put it into the red slot, it worked.

I think it shoudln't be running in dual channel, but for some reasin CPU-Z says that they are.

Maybe it just doesn't show corretly, or my motherboard might support dual channel mode even if not put in the same colored slot?

Youre right , how you have it should only be running,single,channel.

Manual does state with 2 sticks to run slots 2 & 4.
As in the red slots.

I'd try populating both red slots personally.

Try putting one ram in first slot and the other ram in the 3rd slot. Is the ram slot clean?

I have been using the first stick in the first slot for half year now, I bought the new one but the pc didn't start when I put the new one into the 3rd slot. It's working fine in the 4th slot.

they are in dual channel from readings see if you use the 1 orrange slot the read the same .

How fast is your ram, each of my ram is 400mhz and since its dual channel it shows up as 800mhz in Speccy

^ that's nothing to do with dual channel.
That's double data rate (ddr)
