My roxio game capture only records in 720p

When I try to capture with my game capture on my xbox one it only appears to be at 720p on the dashboard but when i launch CoD ghosts it gives the option to go to 1080p. Is this just what xbox one does or is there something wrong with the game capture? Thanks. Oh and the game capture source comes from a powered spliter. if that has any affect thanks

Xbox one uses upscaling and so its original native resolution is at 720p but because of scaling it goes up to 1080p, so in short xbox one can only have max 1080p on CoD ghosts
