Question my samsung monitor not working with hdmi

so i got a new samsung monitor, model number is s22c300 and i cant get it working through hdmi, but i was able to get it working with vga on my laptop, but i dont have a vga on my pc tower. any help would be amazing and im willing to clarify anything i didnt explain very well

oh, alright, my specs are a ryzen 2600x, 16 gigs of ram and a rx 580 red devil 8 gig and im running windows 10 (before you i am plugging it into the gpu, and not the motherboard)

nope, im not, im plugging directly from my 580 to the monitor
