Question my ssd and hdd dont appear in bios

i recently built my pc and everything went well, it booted but once it got to bios, it said all the sata ports were empty, thought it was a glitch and went to download windows. once i got to the part where i download windows onto a drive but nothing shows. do i need a new motherboard or is there another way to fix this?

motherboard: msi b550 gaming gen 3
ssd: crucial mx500 1tb
hdd: seagate barracuda 2tb

currently i dont have screwdrivers with me but i dont hear the hdd spinning while its open

just checked the hdd doesnt spin up and i tried connecting power and data cable, nothing changed

nope nothing at all just says not present for all slots

tried that too, yeah I think I might have to refund my motherboard
