I’ve setup a new Samsung evo 860 500gb with win 10 after using a slow af hardrive... the ssd was working perfectly fine after I turned my pc off and woke up the next morning having it boot up into my other hdd. I uplugged the hdd and the ssd booted into bios every time. Most of you will say, “check the boot priorities” or something but I did that.

Any suggestions will be helpful.

I kinda do t know what boot ini is and where do I apply the change in uefi

You should detach the old drive from the system and then reinstall windows onto the new drive.

Not at all. Installed apps will have to be reinstalled of course but you can copy the files you want to keep to the HDD before the reinstall and retrieve them once the new drive is operating.
Thing is to have only the SSD attached when you install.

I will probably do that. But how would I take the windows activation key off of the ssd and put it one the new reinstall.

And what do u think caused this to happen?

The new install will not affect the activation status/licence of the operating system. The licence will follow the windows install.

My guess is that you committed a mortal sin. You had more than one drive attached when you installed the last time and windows spread itself between the two drives so the new drive cannot boot on its own.

I actually had just the ssd when I installed so idk what happend...

how would I reinstall windows if I can’t go in the ssd?
