My third monitor won't turn on

Hello Tom's Hardware,

This is my first posting in the forums. My third monitor just came in the mail. All three monitors are being plugged into a since XFX Radeon HD 6790 graphics card. While the graphics card itself has x1 HDMI, x2 DVi and x2 mini display ports, for some reason...only two of the three monitors can function at a time. The new monitor is not the problem (by physical defect or cabling) as if I were to (though the OS) disable one of the monitors, the new monitor can then be turned on and work perfectly (still while only having two functioning at a single time). Drivers are good and I am not using any adapters as the cables being used are the one HDMI and the two DVIs. I would really like to get this set up as I want to get my eyefinity setup running. A computer restart had been done as well and hadn't solved the problem.

Any help would greatly be appreciated!

P.S.

Also if someone can help inform me how to put my computer specs under my postings, I posted them in "Your Computer" and "Signature" in the account settings but I didn't see anything. My specs are:

Intel Core i7 950 3.07 GHz - Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit - ASUS Sabertooth x58 - 12 GB DDR3 - AMD Radeon HD 6790 - 3x ASUS VH242H 23.6" - OCZ Vertex 2 60GB SSD (OS) - Western Digital 1TB 7200RPM (Storage)

Doing further research on Tom's hardware, I think I may have found the answer. A single graphics card can have upwards of 5 or so outputs though it might be there only for comparability purposes. It seems like, for example with two DVI ports only one DVI port is active so if DVI port 1 is currently being used, then DVI port 2 would be disabled. It seems like, since I have a DVI and HDMI being used, I can't use the remaining DVI port. And that my only option is to purchase and active mini display port to DVI port.

If anyone can confirm this, that'd be great.

Thanks!
