My TV home network has a pass but the internet has a fail (4000 series Philips 32" smart TV)

So I have had my TV for a little bit now and I've been trying to get the internet on my TV to work so I can download apps on net tv but my home network is saying pass and my internet is saying fail it is telling me to check the gateway but I'm not a computer technician I don't know what that means can somebody please help me I'm desperate

If the other devices in your home work, PC, smartphone, then something wrong with the TV connection, use another cable, plug into a different port. Ethernet cables should be plugged in with a solid CLICK. If the TV uses a WIFI dongle, sometimes you HAVE to use the same brand of WIFI adapter, you can't just use any, consult TV manual.

Ethernet connections are very simple. There are, typically 2 LEDs by the jacks, they signal whether you have good connection, again consult the manuals. Don't read the whole thing, just download PDF and quickly search for what you want.
