My tv won't pick up any signal from pc

So I just built my first computer and when I try to go install windows on it the tv im using (instead of a monitor) isn't picking up any signal. I have checked everything I know that could be the problem like the tv's hdmi port not wotking, the computer not being on and the hdmi cable being faulty. And nothing has worked I've put the cable into the motherboards hdmi port and the gpu's hdmi port and yet again nothing has worked. What can I do or what is the problem.

Do you have the TV set to the correct input?
Also, if you have a video card you MUST use the video card's HDMI port not the one on the motherboard.

Try this:
First: Ensure the HDMI cable is plugged into the video card
1. Power on the TV
2. Select the HDMI input you connected your computer to
3. Power on your computer

Have you tested with a different monitor/screen?

Because it's a TV (most of which have several external video inputs) you have to select the appropriate input using the TV's input menu.
