Question my usb drives are disconnecting

i use a usb hard drive for my steam library and it keeps disconnecting i have tried plugging it in to my motherboard and a usb 3 hub that's powered by my computers psu. as soon as steam starts to install a game after downloading, it unmounts and remounts. any ideas?

No because you don't have other devices or because they aren't affected?

other devices work but, they use less power than a harddrive (flash drive, xbox controller)

Do you notice anything else that behaves odd when your disk disconnect?

Does your usb drive disconnect when connected to other computers? What if all the rest (usb hub and every usb device connected) are moved to another computer? Does it behave the same?

Can you list up all hardware included in your rig, usb devices too ?

msi a320m-a pro max, ryzen 3200g (OC to 4.0ghz), rx570, 16gb 3200mhz ram (OC to 3400), 240gb ssd, 640gb internal hdd, 1tb internal hdd, problemed usb drive, redragon keyboard/mouse, tx850 psu
