My VGA port doesnt work on my motherboard.

I had a dual monitor setup where my main monitor was connected to my graphics card and my second monitor was connected on my motherboard. That was when I had an A4 6400k dual core cpu. Then I upgraded to Athlon X4 760k quad core and ever since then my computer does not detect my other monitor. Can somone please help?

By default a motherboard will disable any onboard video when it detects a graphics card. Some motherboards have an option in the BIOS to change this behaviour. Have a hunt around in the BIOS and see what you can find. It's often called "VGA PEG" or something like that, under Advanced Settings, or Onboard devices.

Most motherboards that I've seen have the option to force the Onboard graphics on (i.e., disable the graphics card) OR disable the onboard graphics (the default). Some have the option to turn both on at the same time... that's the setting you're hoping to find. If your BIOS doesn't have that, then you're in trouble I'm afraid.

Having said that, even a cheap graphics cards released some time in the last 5 years should support at least two displays. Can you not just run two displays off your graphics card? What's specific card you have?

That's where I run into the issue whenever I load into my bios my screen is black because its suppose to be shown on my main display, but I cant get that display to detected. Yes I can run dual straight from my gpu which is the Radeon R7 260x. Although I run into the issue of buying another adapter and unable to load into bios and you never know when you are going to have to use the bios. That is why I am reluctant to run another display from my graphics card. I would very much like to use my bios when needed.

You can't get into your BIOS? That's bad! You need to fix that first.

How about you take out the 260X temporarily, that should enable the onboard display and let you into the BIOS. If I were you I'd be putting things back to default settings, which should disable the onboard graphics again when you put that 260X back in.

If that works, and you can get into your BIOS with the 260X in. Just get an adapter no? Is at least one of your monitors DVI or HDMI? If so, connect one to the DVI-D or HDMI port, then use a simple and dirt cheap DVI -> VGA adapter like this one on your DVI-I port: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=9SIA5WW31F5623&cm_re=dvi_to_vga-_-14-998-101-_-Product

Yes both monitors take an VGA or DVI I have an adapter that im already using for my graphics card so i can game on that monitor. Then I just have a VGA plugged into my 2nd monitor and motherboard. So you are saying take out the graphics card and plug the main monitor into the motherboard and try to load into the bios and reset everything to factory defaults? And if I do that will that delete any data I have on my hard drives?

But it worked with the other CPU. That's the clue. It doesn't work because the Athlon X4 760k doesn't have an IGP.

Sorry OP, I'm an idiot and should have picked this up!!

I guess your BIOS is trying to enable on onboard GPU that isn't there. Taking out the graphics card won't work... because there's no onboard! My bad! If the BIOS is trying to display itself on an onboard GPU which doesn't exist, I can't think of a way to correct that without resetting the BIOS to factory settings. That's actually not hard and usually not a big deal. Do you know if you've changed any other BIOS settings? If so, you'll need to put them back after the reset.

Look in your motherboard manual for how to reset the BIOS to factory, it usually involves shorting two pins for 10 seconds or so... but Google or use the motherboard manual.

Once reset you should find your BIOS comes up on the 260X. Put any settings you had back as they were, plug both displays into the 260X and you're good to go.

It means it doesn't have any graphics card onboard. It will only work with a dedicated graphics card.

The FX chips and Intel extreme chips don't have onboard graphics either. Don't worry about it. You can connect both your displays with DVI, -> DVI cable, $6: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16812422631&cm_re=DVI_cable-_-12-422-631-_-Product
Alternatively, pick up one of those $4 DVI -> VGA adapters I linked above to connect your second monitor (that'll only work for one, the other needs to be DVI).

Ok so I have a big problem. I looked up how to reset my bios, so I located my jumper to clear the bios. I had to take out my gpu to get to it so took out the battery like it said i should then moved the jumper to the accurate pins, waited for few seconds then moved it back like the instructions said. Got everything back together and when to plug it back in there is no display at all and there is a beeping sound. I looked that up and it has to do somthing with it not being able to finish the P.O.S.T. and ive read the common problems like the ram and gpu so I unpluged and pluged them back in and still getting the beeping with no signal. I am very worried and irritated right now. I dont know what to do. The beep pattern is one solid one then 8 other short ones. And idk if I ever mentioned my motherboard its the ECS A55F2P-M2.

Because you removed your GPU, I'd start there. Remove everything from the back. Remove the GPU. Remove the ram. Look around and make sure the PSU cables going to the board are in tight. Put the ram back in. Put the GPU back in. Make sure after installing each one that it's in all the way and tight. Don't forget to attach any power cables for the GPU. Plug everything back in, don't forget the monitor gets attached to the card.
