Hi,

I reinstalled my computer yesterday because I just got a 970 evo.
I plugged in my usb stick what had windows on it deleted all of my drives and installed windows to 970 evo. When it finished I had to download ethernet driver and other drivers updated windows from 1803 to 1809, than I saw that only 1 ssd is appearing. I went to disk manager and I was able to get my other ssd back (its a kingstone ssd btw) but the hdd was not there. I thought maybe because of driver. I tried downloading drivers from the Wester Digital offical site but nothing really helped and the hdd didnt appear there.
I wanted to see if I can even install windows on it but on the windows installer it was not there only the 2 ssd's
I checked in BIOS and the WD hdd is there.

I have another computer and I use it as a datacenter.
I plugged the hdd in but it wasnt appearing at all only just in the BIOS like on my other computer.

I tried to use other SATA cables but it didnt fix my problem.

I even tried a recovery tool and it recovered most of my files from the hdd and I was able to download videos or pictures from it.

It gets detected in Device manager. In disk manager it doesnt. I tried updating it trougjt that and deleting nothing worked

You should've ideally noted if you're on the latest BIOS update for your motherboard. Then recreated your bootable USB installer using Windows Media Creation Tools.

Mind sharing your full system's specs like so:
CPU:
Motherboard:
Ram:
SSD/HDD:
GPU:
PSU:
Chassis:

Have you tried other connectors for both power and data for the WD drive? The WD drive doesn't need drivers. It's automatically installed by the OS as necessary.

Thanks for your fast response!

I will check if its the latest BIOS version. I will also try to recreat another bootable USB with media creation tool.

my specs

CPU: Intel i7 8700
Motherboard: Asus rog B360-G
Ram: Corsair Vengenance 2x8 GB 2666mhz
SSD/HDD: Samsung 970 evo 250gb
Kingston SUV 400
Western digital purple 2TB

Hi I checked in the bios and all the sata ports are enabled. I had an hdd what was never connected to this pc and it worked fine. I think it has to be something with that hdd. I tried keeping only the hdd what my computer cant find but windows installer cant find it either...
(the hdd just worked fine yesterday before I format all the drives and reinstall windows)
