So I'm using a 866.7mbps Wi-Fi adapter and recently I started powering off my computer at night and about a week has gone by and everything's been fine except for 2 days ago when I would load into a game with my friends and that would be fine and then we would load into a match and then my Wi-Fi would disconnect and then I go back to lobby reset the adapter and the Wi-Fi's back and my PC stays connected until I load into another match and it disconnects again. When I'm not playing something that requires a lot of internet my PC is fine but when I start playing games that use a lot of network is when it disconnects. (And for those wondering, allow the computer to turn off this device to save power is turned off) Outside of a fan on the top of my case which isn't obstructing the adapter there's nothing else that would be obstructing it.

How do you/did you power off the computer?

Update your post to include full system hardware specs and OS information.

Make and model modem? Make and model router? (Or modem/router if combined.)

Run "ipconfig /all" (without quotes) via the Command Prompt.

Post the full results. (You should be able to copy and paste the full results without needing to retype everything.)

I lock my PC and click the power icon and turn it off that way.
Router:TP-Link AX5400
Wi-Fi adapter: TP-LINK Archer T4U AC1300
Specs:
Ryzen 5 5600
B450 Steel Legend
16gb 2667MHz
ASRock RX6600 8GB
Samsung 970 500GB EVO
WD Blue 2TB 7200RPM
EVGA 600W 80+white
Windows 10 Pro
The weird thing is that after about 30-60 minutes my Wi-Fi works perfectly fine. And when I get a chance I'll go to Command Prompt and run the command.

Sounds like you are using a front panel USB port. As an experiment, move to a rear panel port to see if performance improves.
My PC needs to do a security update which might be causing my issue but originally my adapter was plugged into the back of my computer but the problem is there's pipes in the wall and I have two monitors and so my Wi-Fi would disconnect like every 10 minutes because my adapter wasn't receiving a clear signal otherwise it would be plugged into my motherboard. I appreciate the thought though.

Hey there,

Are all of your system drivers up to date? Including wi-fi/lan

Have you used a third-party app like TCPOptimizer to optimize your network?

What is the current bios on your mobo? You can use CPU-z to determine this.

This Wifi adapter?

https://www.tp-link.com/us/home-net...WXww&cjevent=5266c008993411ef812d01760a82b82c

Feel the adapter before use. Then carefully keep checking the adapter to determine if it is getting warmer and even hot when in use. Especially during gaming.

= = = =

I will add the suggestion to use a USB extension cable to move the adapter up and away from whatever USB port is being used.

Just a little bit of movement may improve transmission and/or reception.

And also help to keep the adapter cooler.

The adapter isn't that warm.

Checked and all are up to date and I have no third-party software. I'm thinking my security update may have fixed the problem but I'm not entirely sure yet

The reason I mentioned it is that front panel USB wiring can be problematic handling the electrical load of a USB network adapter, depending on the case/chassis you are using. Ports directly connected to the motherboard don't suffer that problem.

Using a quality USB extension cable can help relocate the adapter to a more optimal placement.

Got it. That's good to know
