My Windows 8 is stuck on an infinite loop

I downloaded something then it was messing up my CP. Everything was slow and then I decided to restart my computer (erasing stuff completely and restarting windows 8) thinking it would restore everything. It started doing it's thing then my little sister accidentally closed it. I put HP automatic repair. Then I closed my laptop to eat. Opened it and says, "Preparing Automatic Repair." Went black then it's says "Diagnosing your PC" then it went black, and it kept doing this on and on about 2 hours now and I'm getting frustrated. What should I do?

I had the same problem. I recommend pressing F12 when it hasn't showed the Icon for like "DELL" "TOSHIBA", Then You will find the same options like "refresh your pc", either pick the refresh your pc or the one that you delete everything and start everything again. If you click the one where you reset the whole thing pick the one where it says "remove only the files" I think, it takes like 1% = 1-3 second. Thats the simple way. Because I don't think the "F8" works on Win 8/8.1, I tried it and it didn't work. GLAD IT HELPS =D

This is what is happening to me my brother hit my laptop.. it went to sleep since then it hasnt worked:\ just says preparing automatic repair. I have no clue its been like this for six months now

Will this work on any brand that has windows 8? I'm using hp. Neither the things I press in the laptop won't response except the power button. I also tried pressing F8 but it won't work. Maybe my laptop is really broken. When its says "Diagnosing PC" then it show a text. I couldn't read it because it went to fast. Then it like went blank an says "Preparing Automatic Repair",it does that over and over again like non-stop.

If the automatic repair doesn't work, then I'd suggest doing a formatting and installing the windows again.

Using F8 in windows 8 or 8.1 is almost physically impossible because the boot times are so fast. So you really don't have time to press F8 and by the time you do windows will already be loading.

But if you want to boot into safe mode here's 5 ways to do that.

Some of your system files must have got corrupt. It's diagnosing and in the end,its not arriving at a solution or fixing your PC,right? So you could check if restoring your PC to an older time helps fix things. You know how to restore I hope. If it doesn't,you'd need to format your drive and re-install windows.

Im having a problem with my Hp windows 8.1 laptop. I was playing a game on my pc when the gamed crashed on an autosave feature. i turned off my pc by holding the button ( bad idea i know ) and it shut off. a hours later i got back on and i got a loop before a bluescreen error 0xc000021a. i would do some menu thing but now it does this

loop for as long as it's on and I never get any menu. before all I got was a long load and then a blue screen. I tried resetting then restoring but neither got pass 1 or 2% loading before another blue screen says it failed. hi good day...i also experienced this kind of error, what i did was,
1. i removed the hard drive from the laptop and put it in an enclosure
2. then i turned on the laptop and wait to appear the PRESS F4 for recovery, so that i can enter the recovery option.
3. the trick is press F4 then remove the hard drive and while it is loading insert the hard drive to the laptop and wait until you get through to the recovery option...i hope you understand the procedure and help you with this error

Yes but on my PC I don't have the ability to even log into it
