I have just backed all of my files and done a fresh install of windows in order to put it onto my ssd. Then It reset it and started installing however it didn't come up with where to install it so I though I'll restart it which I did. Then it took me to a screen where it had troubleshooting etc. I then pressed something which I can't remember what and know when I boot my pc it says "reboot and select proper boot device"

Check your boot order to make sure your old hard drive is first. That should at least get you back to where you were before, assuming you haven't damaged anything on your hard drive somehow.

After that, disconnect all the storage devices in your computer except for your SSD and whatever you're installing Windows with (DVD or USB) and try again.
