My Wireless Adapter won't let me enable it!

I have an Atheros WiFi adapter on my computer and for some reason it wont let me enable it. I tried going to the network settings and enabling it from there, but no dice. I ran a diagnostic log on the adapter and this message came up. This is on a HP PAVILION DV7 running windows 7. PLS HELP!!!!

This test is to check if the radio/driver is enabled.



The card is not enabled

Enable the card.





Association test

This test is to check your client adapter's association to an access point.

Link Status . . . . . . . : Not Associated



Your client adapter is not associated to an access point.

Configure the radio card and set SSID and other properties.





Authentication test

This test is to check authentication.



Authentication test bypassed, because authentication is not in use.







Network test

This test is to check your network settings.



You have not configured your computer to use the client adapter.

Use the Network icon in the System Preferences application

to set the network configuration for your client adapter.





 
the physical switch does not work because of a messed up connection, so that option is not available 🙁.
as for the key combo, i tried the standard fn+12 that i've been told works and that does nothing.
 
also, make sure your bluetooth is turned on. if i'm not mistaken there is a switch on your laptop keyboard to turn it on and off(should shine blue when on, orange when off)
 


Some laptops physically connect the antenna or amp power to that switch. It could very well be that the issue stems from a broken switch.
