n64 problem

hello i have this n64 that tuns on but the prob is when you insert the controller in it the machine turns off, anyone got any ideas?

Hmmm... Have you tried inserting the pad's before turning it on? If it doen't help, the there's really nothing to do...

Yeah the n64 is all console hardware really if something is broke i wouldnt know where to start replacing somthing. Ive taken one apart its MOSTLY one board. so you need basicly a new n64.
