first off let me apologize if I put this in the wrong thread it just seems to make the most sense.
Okay now thats out of the way is it possible for me to connect my old N64 to my monitor and also get sound at the same time

I know im able to to connect to a tv but the tv i'm using is to big and i would rather be next to my computer and be able to use one monitor for my pc and the other for my N64 when i get bored.

No, that won't work, because it converts VGA to RCA, not RCA to VGA (pc to n64, not n64 to pc)
