Nahimic audio service

Hey everyone,
After booting my pc this arvo I noticed that something wasn't right-it felt like something was running in the background. Upon checking I saw this service I hadn't seen before: Nahimic, Nahimic svc32, nahimic svc64.
Upon researching I found that its a sound service, primarily 3d sound, associated with MSI products. Funnily enough though other than MSI afterburner I am not running any MSI hardware or software.
Anyone else have had this service pop up before? Is it part of the new windows update package perhaps?

I would have a good read of this thread:

You might want to have a look in your temp folder and see if you are constantly getting files written by the Nahimic service in there.

Basically Nahimic is part of Sonic Studio/A-Volute which is installed on Asus boards at least as part of the Realtek driver install. I haven't got an MSI board but I understand a similar situation applies.

EDIT
As I mention in another post. I've just repeated the problem on another Asus board with the Z370 chipset (mine is a z390)

Are you running Sonic Studio 3? It is listed on your motherboard and includes Nahimic

Nahmici isn't part of MSI, instead its a technology produced to make Headphones better. https://www.nahimic.com/about-us/
Asus and MSI both use the drivers for enhancing headphones.
