NAS HDD Error - Local device name is already in use... ?

Have a Wireless HDD connected to router via ethernet and can only be accessed through the internet, weather through wifi or ethernet linked to router.

It has been working fine the past year but now suddenly displays this error code

This error occurs across all different devices used in the home> laptops, macbook, pc, smartphone, tablets > (error code named differently on non-Windows devices)...

The wireless hdd, router and isp have remained the same since it was bought, so i see no reason why the sudden error message and inability to connect to it.

Buffalo LS-XL448

Any idea's as to why the sudden error and inability to connect?

I have many times to get it temporarily back "sometimes" > powered off/on both whilst connected to router and whilst disconnected and rebooted router, even rebooted devices used to connect to it. Sometimes it works a while, (hours or days) and sometimes nothing.

Main connections are via windows 7 & 8 pc's and laptops, rarely but sometimes from android devices

Its IP address always remains the same (192.168.0.9) and is accessible through this when it shows under "Media Devices" in Windows Explorer.
Originally had it as a mapped network drive with an assigned letter, but thought disconnecting and un-mapping it would resolve it but did not so.

Yes network is fine.
HDD needs to be cabled to router by patch cable in order to work. (using a short cat5e)
Cannot to the HDD directly with cable from a pc/laptop... it's meant to connect to devices through a router and other than power cable, only has the RJ45 port

Yes connected to router by ethernet.
No usb port - RJ45 only
Make/Model in first post - Buffalo LS XL-448 (LS=Linkstation)
1TB storage.
It's a closed unit, no screws, not meant to be upgradable by the consumer but there sure is a 3.5" sata in there

Cannot find the specific model anymore but it sure was there in 2013

Apologies, not wifi hdd but NAS drive
