I need a gaming graphics card ...
my pc configuration is ..

Amd athlon 64 x2 Dual core,
asus M2n Mx Se motherboard ,
Ram 3Gb DDR 2 667
HDD samsung 160Gb
SmPs 400w
......

My on board Graphics is not able to gaming.. I need a good performance Graphics card for this system.. Plz help me..

I very much doubt that car will work with your PSU.
What resolution are you using to game at ?
Your system would be best suited to a lower powered card. Do you know if the PSU has a PCIE cable to power a GPU ?
I would probably play safe and stick with a card that does not need extra power.
Something like this http://www.techpowerup.com/reviews/Powercolor/HD_6670/1.html

If you look at the review you will see that the 5750 is the next card up and its possible to get a version of that card with no extra power needs.

If you have a PCIE cable on your PSU then you could run a slightly better card with modest power needs.
Your CPU isnt that strong and you would start running into restrictions with a card that was too powerful.
This means the card could run faster even if only slightly but cant as it is held back by the CPU.
This is what is (technically incorrectly) refereed to as a bottleneck.

Any questions please ask.

I hope you dont mind me jacking this thread but my girlfriend has a reasonably old system

Mobo : Asus M2N SLI Deluxe
Ram : 4Gb
CPU : AMD Athlon 64+ 6000 overclocked to 3Ghz
Current GFX : Nvidia 8800GTS
PSW : 650watts

Running Windows XP.

I was hoping to upgrade her graphics card. Any suggestions?

Better make you're own thread about this ?

The GTX 460 is a good place to start once you have a decent PSU, Jordy's list is fine but just personally I would go for a Corsair TX650 Great all round PSU that can be taken on to a higher spec PC at a later date.

Do you have a budget and where would you buy from ? If you give us a budget and a link to a shop maybe we can find you a bargain.

I would suggest that i want some of what you are on :D Seriously a 460 is easily 75%+ faster/better than a 6670.

Don't.

Get GTX 460 or Radeon HD 6870, depending on your needs and which one is less expensive. The 6870 is slightly better.

If you want to try full-1080p, go with Radeon 6870. If you can find one cheaper and plan on gaming at nothing higher than 1440x900, go for the GTX 460.

I have a GTX 460 in my backup PC, and it can run Skyrim or Battlefield 3 or anything else I throw at it, in 1440x900 high settings.

YOU DO NOT WANT 6670 it is weak.

Here is a GTX 460 for $119 after the rebate. Spend the extra $40..!
