How much longer until Gamestop takes new GPUs out of their boxes and starts selling them used for a much higher price than MSRP? They've done this with video games before -- even new release video games.

Personally, I haven't done business with Gamestop since 2007. They've been on my ban list ever since the Orange Box.

What happened with Gamestop and the Orange Box? Asking because I genuinely don't know.

A relative gifted me a "Gamestop New" copy of Valve's Orange Box (PC game) collection back in 2007. Gamestop had removed the discs, put the case on display, and left the Steam key in the box. Someone redeemed/stole the key while it was on display. Gamestop accused my cousin and I of being a software pirates and refused to replace or refund the game that they improperly displayed, opened, and tried to pass off as "new". Gamestop also screwed up two other previous orders -- strike three, you're out.

Oh I thought there was a larger scandal or something regarding them with the Orange Box that you were alluding to.

But still, that really sucks, and may well have happened to other people.

Not with the Orange Box, no. That one was very personal. However, Gamestop has had scandals with several games in the past. The most noteworthy probably being Xenoblade Chronicles new games being sold as used so Gamestop could bypass the MSRP. There are other examples, but you have to use very specific search terms to dig through the mountains of recent news regarding wall street bets and stock moves. I wouldn't trust Gamestop with a GPU purchase.
