(1920x1080 / 144hz) Will be mostly competitively playing games like Escape From Tarkov, Counter Strike, and Rainbow Six Siege while prioritizing fps, but will sometimes play AAA and would prefer medium to high settings and don't care much about ray tracing.

I would like to purchase one of the 4070's but im not sure which version. Or is that overkill for what games I'll be playing?

Here is a list someone put together for me:

You can pick up pretty much any RTX4070 out there. What sort of a budget have you allocated for your GPU purchase? Are the three titles you're mentioned above the only games you'll be taxing he system with? I ray tracing isn't what you're looking for, you could look at AMD's alternative and perhaps something lower spec'd since two of the titles you've mentioned above are e-sports titles which means they don't need much oomph from the GPU to play.

That processor can take on any game or GPU so only your budget is a factor.

Just a few minor changes to your build.
1. better quality ATX 3.0 psu.
2. board with better audio codec: Realtek 4080
3. faster RAM: DDR5 6000 CL30
4. better quality case.
5. pretty much the same gpu but for cheaper.

Max budget for gpu would be around 800 but I dont want to spend that much if I dont have to. The games that are listed are what I will be mostly playing, but might play games like Cyberpunk 2077 for example. I would like decent fps 100 on medium settings on the higher end games. I have realized AMD is better for more competitive games, but I would rather pay extra as im more familiar with Nvidia and use its software regularly.

thanks for your help. For the case, i like the more sleek and boxy ones, for example: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B09VNZHL44?tag=pcpapi-20&linkCode=ogi&th=1&psc=1

Would it be possible to change the case to something like that? it doesn't have to be nzxt just something more boxy and sharp without the round corners.

the TT GF A3 850W is a good model. complies with ATX 3.0 spec and is a tier A model. I see no issues there.

For 1080p, the 4070ti is definitely overkill. The vanilla 4070 is all you need for 1080p 144hz.

If you dont care about ray tracing, and want a more budget option, the RX 6750 XT is also a good choice.

Personally I would do it similar to @Why_Me but with some different parts swapped around and with a 4070S instead. I do not believe any of those games you are playing really need all that GPU horsepower at 1080p, mind as well save 200 dollars. I play tarkov at 1440p and get 100+ fps every map with exception of streets where I get around 85-90 depending on where I am. I have a less powerful CPU with the 5800X3D and a 3080, which is about 10% slower than a 4070S. Here is how I would do it.

Hi vertoxed -

Your question in the title - "Need a GPU and build that will match my games."

Have you checked systemrequirementslab.com ? For just about any game out there, this site will tell you the minimum and recommended specs. That will give you good confidence in the HW selections you make, as well as help you know in advance if you're overbuilding.

It's also a great way to answer "... what if I want to play X in the future? Will my current build handle it, or what will I need to upgrade at that time?

Hope this helps!

Forgot to put this in the post but i eventually plan to upgrade to a better monitor any way but thank you for the recommendation
