Hi guys,

I have made many, many posts on many forums regarding my 290x battlefield 4 edition card

If someone else suggests I use a driver sweeper again I may cry...

Assume I have tried everything because I have, I just need someone to look
at the these readings and see if you can notice something not right

I have reinstalled, formatted, tried every setting...

4820k (H100i)
sabertooth x79
16gb corsair quad ram
290x battlefield edition asus
nex750b ( have tried other psu)

temperatures are manageable

thanks

Sorry had issues linking the pictures!

Guys i have already told you that temperatures are not my issue, I was only using Crimsons fan control for this as i get the same results no matter what

Vsync on gives me roughly 60 frames with drops if i dont set crimson to maximum 63fps but it still doesnt feel right, with stutter sometimes

Vsync off... Awful lag, high frames but totally unplayable

Just feel like it is out of sync sometimes, battlefield feels like im walking funny if that makes sense

trust me mate at 93'c your card is running hot. you want to stay under 80 to avoid throttling. which is blatantly obvious issue looking at your gpu load.
its going from 0% to 90%+ then back down to 0% every couple of seconds. this is the gpu throttling.

set your fan curve to
80'c 100% fanspeed
60'c 75%
50'c 50%
your gpu should stop throttling but may sound like a vacuum cleaner.. which to be honest aint ideal but it should solve the problem...
even if it lessens it and doesnt fix it fully. YOU SHOULD!... follow this rule of thumb. 😉

You might think thermals aren't an issue, but it doesn't take much to clean out the thermal paste it shipped with and replace it with some Arctic Silver. I had to do this for my old 7870 Tahiti and found that the old paste was dry and cracked. Replacing it helped greatly. Worst case, you get BETTER temps either way. Best case, problem solved for cheap.

I know it's running hot but that isn't the issue, plus we're talking about amd here.
I know because i can run the fan at 100% and still have the same issue

I did consider that, my mouse is just a cheap wired one i'm using as my old one was bit heavy
(speed link snappy mouse) I haven't tried another mouse but i will just now

My monitor is a syncmaster s24b150

Thanks

Can you humor us and provide a picture with fan speed set to 100%?

im wondering why you think temperatures arent an issue when the card is running at 94C. i'm thiking would be causing wonky behavior as well. if that's a reference card (which im guessing it is), those have just awful coolers on them. i know AMD claims that 95C is just perfectly fine for the card but tom's found this not to be the case right after
release.

what makes you say that temperature isnt an issue?

The temperatures are 100% normal

It's not a sign of throttling at all actually. In BF4 most cards have that pattern of GPU load.

I was trying hard to be clear, I can keep my temperatures manageable.

it's a reference card so obviously the temperature will and always have been high
but i can play with 70% fan and keep the temps at around 70-75. as i said, I wasn't
using afterburner in the last pictures.

I also should've stated that the second pic is with vsync off

I am also currently using a second screen so temps will be slightly higher

I'm used to this type of reaction before getting somewhere

It's most noticeable in Battlefield due to the nature of the game but it is there in other games,
although I don't get the horrible lag in Dayz without vsync. could that be because its more CPU
intensive at the moment due to the lack of optimization?

I have reinstalled 3 times to be sure =/
