Whats with the CapsLock freak out in regards to wireless technology? =) Printer wireless technology has actually become super easy to set up and manage. I think they key is how compact, and how high of a quality in photos do you need? Most basic printers now a days shoot out some pretty decent images.

I actually really like that pixma you linked. I do think it's overpriced though, as you can get similar quality at or near 100 bucks, but you would probably sacrifice the small size aspect. So if your willing to spend the extra money for the compact size I'd say go for it.

"3. infrequent use (so inketjet, right?)"
if you use an inkjet infrequently the head will block up. so no, you are wrong. Laser for infrequent use. But for photo quality, just take the pics to a photo lab, cheaper than running an inkjet printer, the ink, specialised paper, etc, all adds up
