Need a recommendation for a motherboard

I need a recommendation on a motherboard for a gaming PC. I want it to be a Z97 chipset and ATX. When you suggest one can you tell me why I should use that one as I would like to learn. Change your memory to something with lower heat sinks for CPU cooler clearance.
