I recently finished a new computer, got everything hooked up and it seemed to be working but the pc would cut off after 1-2 hours of being on, or a few minutes of running benchmark software. Tried putting the power supply from my old computer in and suddenly everything worked.
So it seems the bad things I have heard about the evga 600b power supplies may be true. Unfortunately though I had bought the power supply well over a year ago for a build that I never ended up making, and decided to use it for my new one, so I do not have the packaging for it anymore and honestly don't really want to bother with trying to RMA it.
So the question here is, what would be the most reliable powersupply to get for about 60$? I could stretch that to maybe 80-90 if absolutely necessary but would rather keep it low.
My build is:
I5 4690k
2 sticks of kingston hyper fury x 4gb ram
evga gtx 970
MSI gaming 5 motherboard
seagate 1tb hard drive
generic R/W dvd drive
evga 600b power supply (faulty)
I would prefer to keep mail in rebates out of the equation for the budget, and preferably get it from Amazon.
Edit: I was looking at this one: http://www.amazon.com/Antec-Current-HCG-620M-BRONZE-Modular/dp/B006TVQTFE/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1442200163&sr=8-1&keywords=High+Current+Gamer
Has anyone here used that power supply? Any comments on it?
