I'm looking to order all of the parts tomorrow to build my second gaming PC ever, to replace the one I made in 2014. This time I'm looking to make an HTPC build. I need my computer to be small so it can travel easier. I do a lot of traveling for college.
After a lot of discussion this is the build I came up with:
CPU: Intel - Core i5-8400 2.8GHz 6-Core Processor
CPU Cooler: CRYORIG - C7 40.5 CFM CPU Cooler
or Noctua NH-L9i??
Motherboard: Asus - ROG STRIX B360-I GAMING Mini ITX LGA1151 Motherboard (
Memory: Corsair Vengeance LPX 16GB (2x8GB) DDR4 DRAM 2666MHz (PC4 21300)
Storage: Samsung - 850 EVO-Series 500GB 2.5" Solid State Drive
Video Card: Gigabyte - GeForce GTX 1080 8GB WINDFORCE OC 8G Video Card
Case: Silverstone - RVZ03B Mini ITX Desktop Case
Power Supply: SeaSonic - FOCUS Plus Gold 650W 80+ Gold Certified Fully-Modular ATX Power Supply
I've gotten great feedback on most of the parts in the list from most of the people here at Toms Hardware besides the case, Silverstone's RVZ03B. I'm worried about the potential consquences this should have for my GPU. In your opinion should I go for larger case and sacrifice some small form factor? The next case I'd go for, the NZXT H200i is a lot larger than the Silverstone RVZ03B.
