Need a suggestion AM3+ or FM2

Hello, I am currently looking for a new processor to replace my A10 6790k, I have an AM3+ mobo and FM2 mobo laying around. Suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

A AM3+ would be a better choice, but AMD cpus are pretty weak and several generations behind Intel.

Look up benchmarks to compare them.

I would go with an i5 4460 and a board to match it.

You didn't provide enough information to make a suggestion. What are you doing with the machine? What is your budget? What is that AM3+ motherboard?

AMD AM3+ FX are better than FM2+ (FM2's are outdated)... FX's can perform 50% better than FM2+ for around the same price.... and up to 100% better for 50% to 80% higher prices... more accurate details in the linked pages.
