Need a wireless access point for my PS3

I have a Belkin f5d7230 v5000 and a Belkin N450 DB- trying to use either as a wireless access point with a Comtrend CT-5374 so I don't have to drill a hole through the floor to my new man cave. Can i do this with either, or do I need to buy something new?

Do you have the wireless adapter in your PS3 enabled? If so, does it have a problem connecting with your router for network access?

I don't understand the need for the additional access point. Please explain.
